In the global launch yesterday in Calgary of its 10th annual Digital Terrorism and Hate report, the Simon Wiesenthal Center's researchers in Los Angeles, Toronto, Jerusalem, Paris, New York and Buenos Aires unearthed more than 7,000 hair-raising websites -- an increase of almost 17% from 2006 -- that foment and nurture hatred and even teach wannabe terrorists how to build bombs and carry out suicide bombing attacks.

The Arabic language website, Detachments of Martyr Ahmed Abualrish, was discovered by Wiesenthal researchers compiling the Center’s soon-to-be-released CD-ROM Report, Digital Terrorism & Hate 2007; its annual report on Internet extremism.  Read more...

Hackers bring down neo-Nazi website

The centre brought the site to the attention of police in Ontario and Saskatchewan, asking that they investigate the "registrant," a resident of Barrie, Ontario, and the "contact person," who lives in Regina. Wiesenthal Center cites hate, terrorism Web pages

Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies has released a list of more than 200 Web sites it says promote terrorism and hate… The organization said the compilation is intended to give law-enforcement officials, public officials, educators, parents and media a better understanding of the scope of "digital hate."
