FSWC convened "Witness to the Truth", a cross-continental video-conference with
over 60 Holocaust survivors (including 9 from Toronto) to counter the Holocaust
denial conference convened in Tehran by Iranian President Ahmadinejad. Held on the
same day as the conference in Iran, survivors gave their testimonials and rebuked
the Iranian government for staging such a travesty.

Lawyers Without Rights
From November 1 to November 12, 2006, FSWC, in partnership with the Consulates of
Germany and Israel, and in conjunction with Holocaust Education Week, will be hosting
an exhibit at Beth Tzedec Synagogue entitled: "Lawyers Without Rights" – The
fate of Jewish Lawyers in Germany after 1933. This exhibit recalls
the thousands of lawyers who were persecuted by the Nazis, addressing the illegal
measures they had to endure. The exhibit reveals to the viewer, through biographical
portraits, new insights into the historical events and the legal realm of the period.
The Opening Night Program on November 1 at 7:30pm will include a keynote address
from former Ontario Premier Bob Rae. Mr. Rae will discuss how the
Nazis distorted the principle of the rule of law, using it as an instrument of oppression
from 1933 to 1945. Mr. Rae will also highlight the transformation of the Nuremberg
Laws into the Nuremberg Trials.
Before Hitler came to power, Jews made up sixty percent of all practicing attorneys
in Berlin, and nearly fifty percent of the lawyers in Germany. By September 30,
1933, with the passing of the "Law for the Restoration of Professionalism in the
Civic Service," all Jewish lawyers were disbarred, and the German legal system was
reduced to a travesty.
Lawyers Without Rights remembers the lives of those defamed lawyers and their ultimate
fates. Sadly only a very few of them found refuge in North America.

Friends hosted the Canadian premier of Ever Again,
a joint production between Moriah Films and FSWC. Ever Again
examines the resurgence of violent antisemitism and terrorism that threatens Europe
and all of Western civilization. It exposes the dangerous Islamic extremism and
culture of death being preached from the mosques of Europe's major cities. It examines
the new neo-Nazism in Germany and the shift from the traditional antisemitism of
the right to the new antisemitism of the extreme left, and it raises disturbing
questions about our future.
Narrated by Kevin Costner, Ever Again is co-produced produced
by FSWC and the Simon Wiesenthal Center's Moriah Films, two-time Academy Award™
winner for best documentary feature: Genocide (1981) and The Long Way Home
(1997).
