FSWC Condemns Green Party Support for Boycotts and Sanctions against Israel

Media Statement

Toronto - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) condemns the revised version of an anti-Israel boycott and sanctions resolution approved by the Green Party at a special convention in Calgary this past weekend.

“The Green’s revised resolution is in practice little changed from the original resolution, which targets Israel alone through a series of economic pressures, while neglecting to address the incitement to violence and terrorism faced by Israelis every single day,” commented FSWC President & CEO Avi Benlolo.

“The complete lack of understanding of the historic and contemporary context in which Israel exists, and the refusal of the Greens to demonstrate clear support for a country listed as the world’s top innovator in green technology by the Global Cleantech 100 index, remains inexplicable. The perception by the Jewish community of bias and discrimination will persist as long as the bias and discrimination against the nation-state of the Jewish people by the Green Party continues,” he added.
