Statement on International Volunteer Day

Media Statement

On International Volunteer Day Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies thanks the dozens of men and women, including Holocaust survivors, committee members, educators and students who support us through their volunteer efforts throughout the year. Their generous donation of time and talent allows us to continue the important work of advocating and promoting greater tolerance and human rights in communities across Canada.  Our volunteers are truly helping to make the world a better place.

“The talent and expertise contributed by our volunteers  - from Holocaust survivors who share their painful testimony with young Canadians, to leaders of our business community who donate their time to ensure funding of our educational programs, are critical to the ongoing success of our organization,” said FSWC President & CEO Avi Benlolo. “Our volunteers are key in helping us  foster greater tolerance and support for Canadian democratic values, and I cannot over-emphasize how greatly their work is appreciated.”
