TORONTO (November 21, 2017) – Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) has learned that yesterday morning a swastika was discovered spray painted on a sidewalk in front of the Kamin Education Centre, a Jewish day school in Vaughan.

According to a letter sent to parents of the school, an Associated Hebrew Schools staff member found the swastika next to Atkinson Avenue, following which administration immediately notified the York Regional Police.

“The individual who spray painted this antisemitic graffiti was clearly targeting the students and staff of the school,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “Thankfully, police quickly responded and are investigating this hateful incident.”

Officers contacted the City of Vaughan to have the graffiti removed.
