Announcement

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center is thrilled to announce the new Tour for Humanity has arrived!

Tour for Humanity, FSWC's special mobile education centre, travels to schools throughout Canada educating students of all ages on the Holocaust, genocide and historical and contemporary human rights issues. Since 2013, Tour for Humanity has educated more than 150,000 students and teachers at 800 schools in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Quebec, inspiring them to stand up against hate in their schools and communities.

Now, with the arrival of Tour for Humanity II, we’ll be able to reach twice as many students at twice as many schools across the country. In particular, Tour for Humanity II will be travelling from coast to coast to coast, reaching more communities outside Ontario.

This latest innovation in our education work was made possible through the generosity of Esther Goldenberg and her family. As part of their important commitment to the community, they proudly sponsored Tour for Humanity II in loving memory of Mark Goldenberg z"l. Yesterday, with much emotion and excitement, members of the family participated in a sneak peek of the newly minted bus shortly after its arrival in Toronto.

Esther Goldenberg, a Holocaust survivor, said supporting this project was important to her and her family because of the clear need for young people to see with their own eyes what happened during the Holocaust and to ensure such suffering never happens again, especially as we see rising antisemitism.

We are incredibly thankful to Esther and the entire Goldenberg family for their very generous support of Tour for Humanity II.

The new bus will be officially launched in the fall, after which it will hit the road and begin educating thousands of students in the new school year.
